The bundles are in phase. However, once you start trying different combinations, I cannot guarantee all of them will be in phase. Thankfully, phase misalignment is very easy to resolve. Most FOH consoles have a phase reversal switch, and if you're willing to invest, Pinstripe makes phenomenal DIs that can fix it.
In my experience, input trim is highly subjective and varies from person to person. I have captures that sound best (to my ears) at +15, but those same captures work at +8.5 in other rigs. Everyone’s hands and setups are so different! I recommend starting at +8.5 and adjusting from there. You should notice a good amount of sustain, and the captures should feel incredibly dynamic. If you’re lacking either of these, increase the trim. If there’s too much compression or gain, lower the trim.
Absolutely. Tweak away! Use your ears. If the high notes are a little too harsh, bring the presence down. If lows are too boomy, bring down depth or bass! You have a lot of wiggle room with these.
